Audrey Friedhoff

Audrey Friedhoff, 87, of Charles City, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service for Audrey Friedhoff will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Leeper from St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service on Saturday at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home.
Audrey Louise (Feuerhak) Friedhoff, the daughter of Francis and Eva (Erickson) Feuerhak, was born on September 6, 1937, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from high school in Harmony, Minnesota. Audrey was united in marriage to Roger Cheney and to this union three children were born: Pam, Mike and Jeff. The couple later divorced. Audrey married Francis "Frank" Friedhoff on August 19, 2006, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua.
During high school, Audrey worked at a telephone company as a switchboard operator. She later worked for Great Plains Supply, Casey's, and as an aide with home healthcare. She volunteered at Comprehensive Systems, Treasure Chest, and with the Foster Grandparent program. She also served on the board at the Charles City Senior Center.
Audrey passed the way she lived, with strength, grace and love. She most often had a smile on her face and always enjoyed a good conversation. Audrey had several hobbies, but what she loved most was having garage sales. She enjoyed listening to country music and attended many country dances around the area. Audrey spent a lot of time at the Charles City Senior Center visiting with friends, playing pool and playing cards. She also enjoyed watching Dateline, playing Scrabble with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Living family members include her husband, Frank Friedhoff; daughter, Pam Schmidt; son, Jeff Cheney; grandchildren: Corey (Julie) Schmidt, Cole Schmidt, Jeremy Round, Heather Cheney (Chris), Holly Cheney (Larry), Jessie Cheney, Bob Cheney, Amy (Brady) Delatte, and Tammy Cheney; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Bradley, Hailey, Heidie, Hayden, Wyatt, Madison, Braydon, Chasity, Carson, Tuckyr, Ethan, Breadyn, Masen and Jayden; two sisters: Diane Hanson and Barb Hahn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike Cheney; son-in-law, Craig Schmidt; great-grandson, Jacob Schmidt; sister, Jean Smith; and Roger Cheney.
