The Life and Legacy of Audry Mae Mason Grover
Audrey Mae Mason Grover, affectionately known as Sissy, was born on May 4, 1938, to the parents of the late Peter "Pierre" Mason Sr. and the late Mary Julia Burkley Mason. Sissy peacefully transitioned from earth to eternal rest on February 2, 2025.
Sissy was a graduate of Fifth Ward High School, Class of 1958. On October 9, 1965, she was united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, William McQuater "Sonnie" Grover. Through this great union, they were blessed with five children, Delean, Valerie, Donna, Roxanne and Terreke. Much of Audrey's life she was a Homemaker. Nothing made her prouder than being there for all of her kids, whom she loved dearly.
Sissy knew she needed eternal salvation, and she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized on June 2, 1996, at The Greater New Plymouth Rock Baptist Church, by the late Reverend David B. Carter. Sissy never met a stranger, and her doors were always open to everyone. She had a big heart, and it showed daily, because she would give her last to a stranger in need of help. You could always stop by for a hot meal and loads of laughs.
