Audrey J. Helmuth

Audrey J. Helmuth, 60, of Thompsontown, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Born on September 26, 1964 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she is the daughter of Alta M. (Peachey) Auker of Thompsontown and the late John M. Auker. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Danielle M. Messimer and her husband Ryan of York and Devin J. "DJ" Helmuth of Lewistown; three grandchildren, Lincoln L. Messimer, Alaina M. Messimer, and Graham R. Messimer; and three brothers, Douglas Auker of Thompsontown, Jeffrey Auker and his wife Cindy of Richfield, and Brian Auker of McAlisterville. Audrey was a 1982 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and a 1984 graduate of Hesston College in Hesston, KS. She spent her entire working career as a Registered Nurse and caring for others with her last employment being at Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She attended Free Spring Church of the Brethren and enjoyed traveling, reading, and puzzles; however, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. For the past year, Audrey spent time accomplishing her lifetime bucket list and proudly got the chance to cross out every single line as she accomplished each task. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the Delaware Mennonite Church, 16 Delaware Church Road, Thompsontown with Pastor David Gingrich and Pastor Terry Smith officiating. Interment will be private. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the Church.
