August F. Benesh

August Benesh, beloved son of the late August and Frances Benesh, and a devoted husband of the late Mary Ann, nee Litrop. Dear brother of Barbara (Stanley) Lubek, and the late Arthur Benesh; loving father of Christopher (Betty) Benesh, Tina (Pete) Mastandrea, Cecile Perez, Steven (Karen) Benesh, Mary (Glenn) Jendra, Anne (Scott) Burandt, Patricia (David) Bushland, grandfather of 23 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on December 5th 2025. Born on August 13, 1931

August proudly served in the Korean War. After his service, he met the love of his life, Mary Ann. They filled their home with seven children and created much love and laughter. This led to 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

His professional career spanned over 50 years, where he specialized in project management at Transco Inc where he ended his career as the company President.

Beyond his career, August was a passionate family man who found joy in entertaining during family celebrations and holidays. He was known for his warm welcomes, greeting each person with a strong hug and a smile. His love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for camping, fishing, and planning an annual family vacation.

His legacy of love and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 8404 S. Cass Ave., Darien from 10:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
