August Frank "Augie" Colavecchi Jr.

August "Augie" Frank Colavecchi, Jr. age 69 of Philadelphia, PA, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on July 22, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Crum Lynne, PA and Wilmington, DE. August is the son of the late Lucy H. and August Frank Colavecchi, Sr. He attended St. Rose of Lima School in Eddystone from first to seventh grade and graduated from St. Anthony of Padua in Wilmington. August attended Salesianum School in ninth grade and graduated from Concord High School. He then received a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware.

He retired from the City of Philadelphia as a Real Property Evaluator for the Board of Revision of Taxes in the Property Assessment Division. Prior to this position, August was a residential mortgage loan officer for various mortgage companies in Pennsylvania for many years.

In his younger past, he loved being a bartender working at the former Brandywine Club and Pulsations Night Club. August was a great guitarist and loved playing in garage bands!

August is survived by his four sisters, Michele Colavecchi Lawless and her husband, John of Wilmington, DE, Darlene Smith and her husband, Paul of Wilmington, DE, Karen Galese of West Chester, PA and Sandra Combs of Wilmington, DE; six nieces and one nephew, Stephanie, Lucy Marie, Tori, Jonathan, Caroline, Christina and Catherine; ten great nieces and nephews and his best friend since childhood, Armand Pace.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately.
