Sunbury - Aulwyn E. Reader, 95, of Riverfront Apartments, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025 at her home.
Born in Sunbury on March 4, 1930 to the late Lou and Beulah (Wynn) Gilligbauer.
On August 22, 1953, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Sunbury, Aulwyn married Gene Reader, who preceded her in death. Together they shared 34 years of marriage.
Aulwyn worked as a seamstress in the local factories and later in life worked as a cook for the American Legion, as she enjoyed cooking and baking. She was an avid Phillies fan and could often be found playing her favorite game, Bingo. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a zest for life and loved making people laugh, her personality was lively and fun spirited, she was a big flirt.
Aulwyn is survived by three daughters, Roxane Morris and her husband, Robert Sedor of Sunbury, Tina Langendoerfer of Dornsife, and Gena Glace of Dornsife; a son, Craig Reader of Sunbury; two daughters-in-law, Dara A. (Shreve) Reader and Lil Reader; ten grandsons, Clark Morris and his wife Shelby, Codi Morris and his wife Ciera, Carter Sedor, Noah Hengst and his wife Lakota, Mervin Hengst and his wife Tina, Craig Reader, Jr., Michael Bollerman Snyder and his husband Robert, Keith Reader, Jr., and his wife Raine, Paul Deivert, and Barry Reader, Jr.; twelve granddaughters, Cathy Hauck and her husband Walt, Lindsey Roth and her husband Mike, Sierra Yeager and her husband Ken, Katie Leitzel and her husband Zack, Cristy Snyder, Elizabeth Snyder and her husband Jeremy, Natalie Phillips and her husband Matt, Addison Kimsal, Mandy Burns and her husband Bryan, Jennifer Reader, Candi Schiccitano and her husband Jason, and Cristi Ulrich and her husband Dustin; forty-three great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Aulwyn is preceded in death by her companion Raymond Houser, four sons; Larry Snyder, Howard “Ritch” Snyder, Keith Reader, and Barry Reader; two brothers, Clifford Gilligbauer and his wife Shirley, and Darvin Gilligbauer and his wife Grace; a sister, Gloria Ross and her husband Walter; as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Mountain Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 2478 Boyles Run Road., Sunbury.
