Avis Collis, loving and thoughtful to all, passed away at the age of 67 in her hometown of Canton, Georgia on May 15, 2025. Born on July 23, 1957, Avis lived a life marked by kindness, a generous spirit, and devotion to her loved ones.
She was a cherished member of New Hope Baptist Church, where her faith was evident through her actions and grace. Avis's passion for life was mirrored in her joy for cooking and her innate talent for crafting, activities that brought comfort and happiness to those around her.
Her beloved dog, Tiger, was seldom far from her side, and her ability to nurture extended to everyone she met. Above all, Avis's family was the centerpiece of her life; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the heartbeats of her existence. Avis will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, generosity and warmth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Collis; daughter, Lynn Stewart; granddaughter, Shanna Collis; parents, Tommy and Maxine Cornelison; and brother, Gene Gaines.
Avis is survived by her children, Sheilah Cline (Thomas), Robin Padgett (Clay), Arlene White (Travis), Casey Collis and Victoria Sacchi; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as beloved extended family and friends.
