Ayden Jacoby Kanthavong, born on January 29th, 2008 in Berkeley, California was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to those who knew him.
Ayden attended Eastern Guilford Middle School and then Eastern Guilford High School. His favorite subject was World History. He was an avid learner who spent his free time researching world history or wars on Wikipedia. During those times at school, many of his friends would remember him for the contagious smile he had on his face that brought happiness and joy to those around him.
Beyond school, Ayden's interests included playing video games, reading and watching various animes, and hanging out with friends or family. He was always an easy-going kid who enjoyed the simpler things life had to offer. As much as he loved spending time with his family and friends, Ayden also enjoyed his solitude. He was comfortable with the silence and enjoyed his me time. Although he was an introvert, he was very expressive when out with the people he felt the most comfort from.
Like any other teenage boy, Ayden was growing into a man. He had plans to attend college with his cousin, discussing their college essay topics and wanting to attend UNC Chapel Hill.
Ayden left us an important lesson for all of us to remember, to really cherish every moment, small or big and hold your loved ones tightly. Though, his book may be closing, his story will forever be told by his mother Yeu Fung Kanthavong; father Oun Kanthavong; brothers Austin and Ryan Kanthavong, and grandparents Khamseang and Thao Kanthavong, and Mai Chu.
