Barbara Ann Alexander, Age 75, formerly of Kermit, Texas passed away on August 10, 2025
in Snyder, Texas.
She was born on December 7, 1949, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Barbara,
A.K.A. ‘Momo’, had many places in her life that she called home, including Hobbs, N.M,
Carlsbad, N.M., Amarillo, Texas, Wichita Falls, Texas, Kermit, Texas and lastly Snyder,
Texas. As a child, she enjoyed ballet, tap and was an excellent speller, winning the Spelling
Bee one year. ‘Momo’ believed in Jesus Christ as her Savior. She kept her Bible and
devotional book on her kitchen table and made sure to read them every day. She told us
numerous times that she was ready ‘to go and meet Jesus’ and be reunited with her family.
She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, but switched to the Chiefs in recent years due to the
slump experienced by ‘America’s team’. She was known for her sweet tea, which the
family called ‘Momo’ tea. No other tea compared, and she was the first to let everyone
know. She enjoyed decorating her house with anything that she could fit into her car from
Walmart or Dollar Tree. She kept the roads of Snyder busy, going from store to store every
day to buy her favorite Lotto tickets. She was also known as the warden of a small
apartment complex in Snyder where all of the tenants also addressed her as ‘Momo’. No
tenant ever got away with anything as long as Momo was watching. The family remembers
‘Momo’ as liking things her way, organized and clean, as she always wore a dish towel over
her shoulder at home and away, no matter who’s house she was visiting. We all loved
Momo in our own special way as she was unique, and accepted by everyone differently.
Momo was preceded in death by her
father- Marion Weldon Taylor;
Mother-Janet Arlene England;
daughter Regina Ann Taylor;
and sister Winnie Lorraine Cooley.
She is survived by
3 sons,
Stephen Kirk Taylor of Snyder, Texas,
Ronald Claude Alexander, Jr. of Kermit, Texas
and Adam Weldon Alexander, of Snyder, Texas
and one daughter, Amanda Michelle Lockwood of Odessa, Texas.
She is also survived by 3 sisters,
Shirley Taylor of Fort Worth,Texas,
Georgette Kornegay, of Guatemala (formerly Snyder, Texas)
and Anita Simpson, of Waxahachie, Texas.
She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren that she loved very much.
She always kept the family’s birthdays
on her calendar and when the family wanted to know about the dates and such, they
always knew that they could ask ‘Momo’ and get all the answers. The family would like to
thank West Texas Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care. Funeral
services for Momo will be held at Bell Cypert Seale Funeral Home in Snyder on Saturday,
August 23, 2025 at 10:00 and we would like to invite all of her friends and family to
celebrate her going home to meet her Savior. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
