Mrs. Barbara Elders Anderson, 78, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025. Mrs. Anderson was born June 27, 1947, to the late Thurman Elders and Alta Davis Elders. She was married to the late James "Jim" Anderson who preceded her.
Barbara worked and retired from Van Roth and was a healthcare giver to many people. Her greatest work was being a homemaker, wife, and mother.
Barbara loved needle point cross stitch, quilting, do word search puzzles, reading, listening to music, working with flowers, gardening, and canning.
Barbara was a faithful member of Watauga Baptist Church where she worshiped and served her Lord and Savior.
Survivors include her daughter, LeAnne Martin (Shannon); two sons, Jeremy Anderson, and James Anderson; a sister, Joyce Elders Berry (Andy); three brothers, Dillis Elders, Sylvester Elders (Doris), and Gary Elders (Wanda); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by four siblings, Emma Jean Dills, Macy Dills, Houston Elders, and Cecil Elders.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Watauga Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas James, Rev. Wesley Price, and Rev. Roy Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Jerry Elders, Ryan Elders, Gary Elders, Mark Berry, Shannon Martin, and Landon Berry; Honorary pallbearers will be Dillis Elders, Sylvester Elders, and Randy Berry.
A special thank you to Debra, Lisa , Susan, Danna, and all the staff at Grandview Manor for the amazing care they gave Mrs. Anderson.
Memorial donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
