Barbara Jean Anglin

Barbara Jean Merritt Anglin, age 80, went to be with the Lord on December 10th, 2025 at her home in Tucker, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Bill Head Funeral Home Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, with Dr. Steve Tillis officiating. Burial will follow at Jackson City Cemetery, Jackson, Georgia.
Barbara was born the youngest of 3 daughters to William "Bill" and Geneva Merritt of Decatur, Georgia. She grew up in Decatur, GA, raised her family in Stone Mountain, GA and moved to Tucker, GA in 1999. She was a lifelong DeKalb resident. She worked as a Realtor for 40 years, teaming up with her sister Bettijane. She was member of the Order of Eastern Stars, Electa #6, chapter.
She was enormously loving, caring and supportive to her family and friends. She never met a stranger and was personable and friendly to all she encountered. If a person needed help, whether family, friend or stranger, she was always quick to do so. She cherished the opportunities to host and cook holiday dinners for family and friends. She had a kind spirit, a great sense of humor and a loving heart. She and her daughter, Angie, were like two peas in a pod- always together.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Anglin III, her father, William "Bill" Strickland Merritt, her mother, Mary Geneva Hendley Merritt and her sister, Marianne Merritt Schrimsher. She is survived by her sister, Bettijane Merritt Schreck, her son, Mitch and daughter-in-law Phyllis Anglin, her daughter, Angie Anglin, her son, Joey and daughter-in-law Kathy Anglin, her grandsons, Gabe and Grant Anglin, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and on Thursday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, prior to the service at Bill Head Funeral Home & Crematory Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. 770-564-2726.
