Barbara Ellen Apa passed away on January 24. She will be greatly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Patsy Apa. She is survived by her son Steve Apa, his wife Kris Apa,  daughter Stefani Apa-Webb and her husband Walter Webb. She has six grand children, Averi O'Cain, Steve Apa Jr, Josh Apa, Tricia Speight, Anthony Apa and Thad Apa. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.  

Barbara was born in Terre Haute Indiana and spent her early years on the family farm in Sandcut.  She graduated from Fontanet High school in 1948 and Indiana State University in 1952 where she earned her teaching degree.  She also met her husband while in college.  Barbara taught a total of 40 years in elementary school in Terre Haute IN, Largo FL and  the last 26 of those years in Tennessee at West Meade elementary school. While teaching she earned her Masters degree. She retired from teaching in 1992. 

 After retirement she enjoyed spending time with friends and traveling to Florida to spend time in her house there. Barbara also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren for birthdays and holidays. 

 Barbara was always a positive influence at all family events. She will be greatly missed, and always loved by friends and family. 

Service will be held at West Harpeth Funeral Home on January 29 at 3:00 PM and visitation from 2:00 to 3:00.  

Services and Funeral in Terre Haute will be at the Roselawn Funeral home. Services at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute, Indiana will be on January 31 at 12:00PM for Visitation and 1:00PM for Graveside service.
