Barbara M. Austin

Barbara M. Austin was born to Carroll M. Ehlers and Letha M. Ehlers in Richmond, CA on April 18, 1931. She passed away peacefully At her home in North Highlands, California on April 4, 2025.

Barbara was preceded in death by her older sister Patricia Wilfong and her middle son James S. Hawkinson of West Sacramento, California. Barbara is survived by her siblings Shirley Kremer and Jack Ehlers of Sacramento, California.

She is also survived by her two sons, Richard A. Hawkinson of North Highlands, California and Michael Austin of Arkansas and her grandchildren, Alan L. Hawkinson, Steven Hawkinson, Toby Austin and Marci Morales.

Barbara graduated from Shasta High School in Redding, California in 1949. She was the owner of the truck painting firm A&S Truck Painting of West Sacramento, California. Barbara was smart and vivacious. She loved people and everybody loved her. Barbara was also a much loved den mother of her son's boy scout den. She traveled all over the world and loved to read. Her passion was cooking and gardening. She will always be in our hearts and in the memories of all that loved her. Love you forever Mother- A.H.
