Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on Wednesday morning, August 14, 2024. Barbara Meredith Grigg was born on May 18, 1934 in Montreal, Quebec to the late Arthur and Nina (Edwards) Grigg. She married Pierre "Pete" P. Biron on November 18, 1961 in Saginaw, Michigan at Holy Family Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2004. After high school, Barbara continued her education at Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was employed by the Saginaw Township Community Schools as an alternative education teacher, retiring in June of 2005. Barbara was a member of St. Dominic Parish – St. Stephen's Catholic Church, the Saginaw Country Club, and the Junior League for many years.
She loved playing bridge, tennis, and golf. Barbara also loved being a golf ranger at Crooked Creek and Swan Valley Golf Courses and traveling in her later years. She will be remembered for her love of animals. Above all, Barbara loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen (Paul) Biron-Siembida and Sara Biron Ryan; three grandchildren, Renee Melton, James (Brinkley Meyers) Melton, Megan Melton Loomis, and Connor Ryan; one brother, A. Edwards "Ted" Grigg DDS; sisters in-law Colette (Otto) Sonefeld and Julie Coenis; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved golden doodles, Lucy and Ethel.
Barbara was preceded in death by her sister in-law, Diane Grigg; brothers in-law, Robert "Bob" (Judith) Biron and John A. McColgan Sr.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024 at St. Dominic Parish – St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn Street, Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Richard John will officiate.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at St. Dominic Parish – St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn Street, Saginaw, MI 48602 on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
