Barbara "Barb" J. Bohm, 75, of Rib Mountain, passed away peacefully in her loving husband's arms on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Aspirus Hospice House under the care of her family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born on January 15, 1950 in Wausau to the late Anthony and Loriena Nikolai. Barb graduated from Wausau High School in 1969 and later was united in marriage to Gary Bohm on August 28, 1971 in Wausau. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2021 with their kids and grandkids.
Barbara always put her family first, she loved to cook, read books, bird watch, travel, and attend car shows with her husband, Gary. Barb loved old Country Western music and she and Gary traveled to Nashville multiple times, visited Hawaii, took an Alaskan Cruise, and enjoyed many family trips to visit National Parks over the years.
Barb was a giver; she is known for stepping in to help others whenever she could. Barb was purely devoted to her family. The happiest she was occurred when she was with her family. She was modest and never wanted for anything outside her family's happiness. She loved snuggling with her children and always had something special for her grandchildren when they came to visit.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Bohm; children, Michelle Jacobs and Chad (Corrie) Bohm; grandchildren, Brendan and Jordan Jacobs and Miles and Olivia Bohm; sisters, Monica (Dan) Nest and Deb (Mike) Zahrt; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Loriena Nikolai; sister, Sandra (Jerry) Beck; brother, Ron (Judy) Nikolai; and nephew, Christopher Nikolai.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, with Chaplain Will Krebs officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
