David H. Howard

David H. Howard, 89, went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

He was born August 27, 1935, son of the late Harold and Adela (Marquardt) Howard. He was baptized on Septemer 15, 1935, and confirmed on April 10, 1949. He married Erlyne Schmidt on June 5, 1958. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2005.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan (Randy) Hahn; son, Jeffrey Howard; grandson, David J. Howard; and great-granddaughter, Oakley. He is also survived by his sisters, Janice Pieper and Geraldine (Bernard) Enkro; as well as his sister-in-law, Judith Schmidt. Besides his parents and wife, Dave was preceded in death by his son, John.

Funeral services will be held at Rib Mountain Lutheran Church, 227150 Harrier Avenue, Wausau (Rib Mountain) on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. with a service at 10:00 a.m.

Memorials may be directed to Rib Mountain Lutheran Church, Good News Project or your favorite charity.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Copperleaf Assisted Living in Marathon and the staff at Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care, support, and love given to David.
