Sandra “Sandy” L. Diedrich, 82, of Wausau, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born on January 14, 1943, in Wausau to the late Earl and Evelyn (Weaver) Weiland. Sandy was united in marriage to Karl Diedrich on May 31, 1969, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wausau.
Sandy was known for her kindness, sense of humor, and her strong faith. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Sandy enjoyed gardening, canning, hunting, and fishing with her husband before his passing. Sandy loved her Wisconsin sports teams. She was a loyal Packer fan and never missed a game. She loved the fall because there was always football on. After a visit to South Carolina, Sandy also became a huge Clemson fan, though her Wisconsin Badgers always came first. During the summer, she rooted for the Brewers. Sandy had many friends at her apartment house. She enjoyed Friday night fish fries and loved her brandy old fashioneds. Family gatherings were an important part of Sandy's life and she could always be counted on for bringing something delicious.
Survivors include her sister, Sheila Geier; nieces, Cassandra (Greg) Zipp and Lisa (Tim) Doyle; nephews, Jason Geier and Jeremy (Loralee) Geier; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
