Barbara Gay Brenner Siegfried was born to Joel Milton and Nancy North Brenner on November 11, 1937 in Kansas City, Mo. She grew up with her two sisters, Carolyn Jo and Edna Eileen. She graduated from Southwest High in Kansas City at the age of 17. Over the years, Barbara's dad would own a grocery store, laundry mat and an ice cream shop. Barbara would work in the ice cream shop (known as the Dairy Cone and later the Wing Ding) during the summer to make extra money. She loved going to the movies with her friends and had a wonderful tight knit family of aunts, uncles and cousins. She would tell you that she lacked for nothing in her childhood.

As a child, she studied piano, loved to swim and ride horses. But her passion was in dance. She wanted to be a ballerina and although she never realized that dream, she loved dance and the creative expression it gave her. At age 18, she met Charles Arthur LaNore at a USO dance. He pretty much swept Barbara off her feet. The family embraced Mr. LaNore and after several months of courtship, they were married on Aug. 19, 1956, in the family home at 5840 Central St. in Kansas City, Missouri. Before long the first child came, Charles Arthur Jr., then a daughter, Lisa Diane and another son, Steven Christopher. Barbara loved her children dearly and did her best to give them all the things that children need to grow up balanced and healthy, but times got hard due to divorce, remarriage, death and remarriage.

Barbara loved to travel and see new places. She loved the beach and the ocean most of all. And she loved seafood especially shrimp cocktail. She was imaginative, funny with a style all her own. Barbara had a gentleness and kindness about her and always looked to improve the lives of others. Her family and friends knew her to be generous to a fault with a heart of gold. Always ready to help no matter how great the sacrifice might be to herself. She loved her family and all of God's creatures…except the creepy crawly ones! She enjoyed music and had a crazy love for every western movie ever made.

Throughout her life Barbara lived in Kansas City, Missouri; Palmdale, California; Jacksonville, Florida; but called the Fort Worth area her home. She worked many clerical and receptionist jobs, was co-owner of an oil company at one point. She wore many hats and had a variety of skills. She accomplished everything she set her mind to no matter how impossible. Barbara could make things happen.

Barbara Brenner LaNore became Barbara Siegfried and lived most of her adult life and her final years in Fort Worth, Texas. She passed away August 6, 2025 at 5:46 am. She was 87 years old. She lived a life full of perils, heartache, loss, great adventures and love. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Joel and Nancy Brenner and sister Carolyn Jo Illmer. She will be deeply missed by her sister Edna Brenner Blecha and her surviving children and their spouses: Charles (Kim) LaNore Jr., Lisa (Scott) Harrison and Steven (Gera) LaNore. Also, by her two grandchildren and spouse: Jeremiah (Michaela) Harrison and Geraed Alan Maine. Barbara was blessed to have 6 great-grandchildren: Patrick, Nicholas, Abigail, Elizabeth, James and Clement Harrison.

The family wishes to extend love and thankfulness to family friend and caregiver, Jearld Van Smith, who through the years shared a special relationship with Barbara.

Barbara was a believer in Jesus and believed in her eternal rest with her Lord.
