Barbara Ann Briggs
Age 79 of Veteran, NY. Barbara passed away peacefully at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, with her daughter Diana and husband Larry by her side. She is the daughter of the late Erma Jane (nee Hazel) and Elmer Auge, born in 1945 in Elmira, NY. She graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School Class of 1964. Working as a waitress for many years at both Mustico's and Moretti's Restaurants, Barb also loved to cook and bake for numerous family gatherings. She loved flowers and herb gardening, as well as decorating for the holidays. She was a member of the Auxiliary at the American Legion Post 154 in Elmira Heights.
Barb is predeceased by her father; her mother; stepfather Floyd Palmer Jr.; sisters Beverly Bidwell, and Sandra Auge; nephew Stephen Bidwell; and brother-in-law Robert Garrett.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Lauren "Larry" E. Briggs; Benita (Auge) Garrett; daughter Diana (George) Dalia; son Richard Knapp; stepchildren Michelle Ann Briggs, Mary Gardner, Margaret (Charlie) Briggs and Elizabeth (Tim) Bruffey; stepsisters Cindy (Don) Loop, Linda Kimbell, and Carol Crown; grandchildren Taylor James (Shannon Sheridan) Hersh, Ryan Christopher (Megan Stough) Haller, Charles (Bayley) Gardner, Kendrick Evans, Lauren Ashley Stone, Danielle (Chad) Wilusz, Caitlin (Joshua) Reed, Benjamin (Teri) Bruffey; great grandchildren Zari Brockway, Maxwell Reed, Grayson, Ari & Laney Wilusz, and Louise & Olliver Bruffey; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads, NY on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, from 10am to 11:45 am. Her memorial service will follow immediately after; Rev. Peter O'Neill officiating. Following her memorial, all are invited to the Horseheads Elks Lodge 2297, 6 Prospect Hill Rd, Horseheads, NY 14845, from 12pm to 3pm.
