Barbara Ann Bruce, 66, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Known for her vibrant spirit, Barbara was life of the party and the heart of her family & friends. She cherished her annual trips to the Smokey Mountains and had a deep passion for motorcycle travel. Every year, she honored her family's memory with a heartfelt visit to the family cemetery in Morgantown KY. Barbara was a welcoming presence, always opening her home to those in need. Her warmth and kindness will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Born on November 3, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky, Barbara was the daughter of Edward and Jessie (Geary) Gregory. She is preceded in death by her father, Edward Gregory, Sr.; her mother, Jessie Gregory; and her siblings, Virginia Spanyer, Jerry Gregory, and Gene Gregory.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Paul Edward Bruce, Sr.; her children Maria (Elmer) Collins and Paul (Ann) Bruce, Jr.; and her cherished grandchildren, Chasity Bruce, Paul Michael (Ashley) Bruce, III, Destiny Bruce, and Georgia Collins, along with four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Junior Gregory, Beverly Collins, and Donald Ray (Kathy) Gregory, Sr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will forever cherish her loving memory.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the same location, followed by burial at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions in Barbara's memory be made directly to the funeral home.
