It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Barbara Simoneaux Cassioppi, of LaPlace, LA on August 20, 2024 at the age of 74.
Beloved wife of Joey Cassioppi for 55 years. Loving mother of Troy Cassioppi (Denise), Jamie Cassioppi (Carolyn) and Staci Bertucci (Gerald). Devoted grandmother of Joshua and Mason Cassioppi, and Bryce, Brayden, and Bailey Bertucci. Daughter of the late Eddie and Flo Simoneaux. Sister of Gloria Alexander (Sherry). Also survived by her nephews and niece, whom she loved as her own, Scott Alexander (Shelley), Reed Alexander (Laurie) and Kim Alexander Leblanc.
Barbara was such a kind woman who never met a stranger. She was a devout Catholic. She worked for 37 years at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in LaPlace, first as a cook, then as manager. She was an amazing cook who took pride in her special dishes. She touched so many lives with the smile she wore every day. Her grandchildren were definitely her pride and joy. She was such a giving person who taught us the importance of love. We will miss her very much. We will keep her alive through our own example of the legacy she has passed on to us. Please join us in keeping her love in our hearts forever.
Special thanks to Kim Alexander Leblanc and Roxanne Weber for the wonderful care shown to her. Also special thanks to St. Catherine's Hospice and the entire staff of Ormond Nursing Center.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W.
