She leaves behind a devoted husband of 46 years, Joe Catrambone; son, Gary Griffin; nephew, Ed King; niece, Michelle King; grandsons, Richard and Michael; granddaughter, Michele and stepdaughters, Cindy McGettrick and Natalie Chilas. Born in New Milford, P.A. in the spring to parents Louis & Marjorie Burdick, Barbara left her hometown and relocated to Deland, FL. from 1960-62.
Barb was instrumental in establishing the Rho Nu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and served as President in its first two years. She moved to Christmas, FL. until 1967. She was employed by TWA as an International Public Relations Representative and was based in Korat, Thailand and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from 1967-71. It was her dream job. She left TWA and migrated to Titusville, FL. in 1972 where she was an accomplished business owner with two Texaco gas stations.
She met her husband Joe in 1973, began dating and then married on July 23, 1977. They left Titusville for Martin County in 1989 and settled in Palm City where Barbara enjoyed golfing, swimming, and tanning in her pool, horseback riding, and spending time with her dog Max, family, and friends. Barb and Joe are members of Martin Downs & Banyan Creek Golf Clubs and support many area charities.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, February 26th from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Rockin' H Ranch, 4181 SW Boatramp Ave., Palm City, FL. 34990. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Barbara's memory to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, 4100 SW Leighton Farm Ave. Palm City, FL. 34990.
