She was born on August 10, 1957, in Memphis to the late Ervie Eugene Gonser and Melba Joyce Jackson Gonser.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, William Childress, Jr.
She is survived by her son, William Childress, Jr. (Lenore) of Lexington; sister, Alice Bentrum (Sherman) of Lexington; several grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
