Barbara J. Cooper, 93, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Heart to Heart Hospice surrounded by her grandchildren. She was born March 23, 1931 in Evansville to the late Art and Eva Mae (DeVault) Cohoon.
Barbara formerly worked at Builders Square and the Executive Inn and retired from Lowe's in 2017 after 18 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lawson; grandchildren, John Lawson, Andrea, Ryan, and Nathan Cooper and Michelle Young; great-grandchildren, Christian and Natalie Young and Grayson Cooper; and brother, Tom (Debbie) Cohoon.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sons, Jerry and Robert Cooper; and grandson, Jerry Wayne Cooper.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2024 at the funeral home. A Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bret Nicholson.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116.
