Barbara Jean Cooper Creger

Barbara Jean Cooper Creger, age 77, of Electra, Texas, passed away Tuesday morning, November 18, 2025 in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025, in Electra Memorial Park with Barbara's cousin, Peggy Cooper of Electra, officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Barbara was born February 29, 1948 in Electra, Texas to the late Raymond Cooper and Mary Frances Vicars Cooper.

She was a 1966 graduate of Electra High School and also attended Lamar University in Beaumont.

Barbara worked as a nurse's aide for ten years at Presbyterian Manor in Wichita Falls, a 911 Operator for the City of Wichita Falls Police Department and retired as a Correctional Officer from James V. Allred Prison in Wichita Falls.

Reading, watching TV and going to garage sales were Barbara's favorite things to do. She also enjoyed dancing in her younger years.

Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Chandler and Amanda Penn and husband, Tony, all of Electra; two grandchildren, Chelsea Chandler and Cayden Penn; two great-granddaughters, Alivia Vasquez and Adalyn Ohm; and numerous cousins.

Barbara was also preceded in death by two brothers, Steven Ray "Maddog" Cooper and Mike Linn Cooper; and one grandson, Layton Alan Chandler Putman.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
