Barbara Jean Smith Deal, 85, of Savannah, passed into her Heavenly Father’s arms on October 4, 2025.
Born to the late Ralph and Lorene Smith, Barbara was a long-time Savannah resident who devoted her life to her family and her faith.
Barbara leaves behind her beloved devoted husband, Cecil Deal; her son, Michael and Debbie Deal; her grandsons, Brandon and Stephanie Deal, and Blake Deal; and her great-granddaughter, Scottie Deal, along with numerous other loving family members and friends.
Barbara was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Temple for many decades, where she faithfully served the Lord in various capacities. Her love for her church family was deep, and her faith was the foundation of her life.
Barbara’s greatest joy and most loved blessing was her family, which she continually poured into and cherished in countless special ways. Her family, in turn, adored her. She was also an amazing friend to so many people over the years, touching too many lives to count with her warmth and kindness.
A proud graduate of Savannah High School's class of 1957, Barbara married the love of her life, Cecil Deal, in June of 1958. Their marriage of 67 years was a testament to true love and partnership. Barbara dedicated 42 years of her professional life to the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, where she worked in Finance before retiring in 2010. Upon retirement, she loved the opportunity to flourish her friendships. Throughout her life, she and Cecil enjoyed traveling and had many great adventures with dear friends.
The love for her was widespread, and the loss of her will be immeasurable.
