Barbara L. Farmer, 67, of Pierceton, passed away on Saturday morning March 8, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Barb was born in Warsaw, Indiana on June 11, 1957 to Lloyd D. and Edith (Owens) Minnix. She attended Whitko Jr/Sr High School.
She was very proud of her years doing wide load escorting, which took her all over the U.S. and into Canada. Barb retired from working for Omco as a quality group leader in Pierceton.
Barb's children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She made sure to attend all the events and school programs she could to cheer them on. She was always the first one to try and help you solve an issue or problem you had. Like any mother, her worrying over her family never ended. She always had to make sure her family had taken their daily vitamins, as health was important to her. Barb loved her siblings. She enjoyed spending a lot of time with them, even if it was a quick check in or making her regular phone call.
Barb loved trees and being outside, and spent a lot of time tending to her rose bushes, front flower gardens and indoor plants. Hours spent in nature or being surrounded by her family brought her the greatest delights in life.
She is survived by her loving children: Jeff Farmer of Warsaw, Daniel Farmer of Warsaw, Valerie Farmer of Pierceton and Jamie (Josh) Kaufman of Wabash County; 9 grandchildren: Derek, Issac, Jeffrey, Layla, Chase, Jacob, Laini, Karrissa and Ezra; 2 great-granddaughters, Josie and Delilah; and siblings: David Minnix of Warsaw and Linda (Craig) Slone of Sidney.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, sister Joyce Rowe and brother Rick Minnix.
Per her wishes, cremation will take place.
In her memory, the family asks for contributions to be made to Animal Welfare League, 1048 S. 325 E. Pierceton, IN 46562.
