 North English- Barbara Jean Foubert was born September 26, 1940, at the family home, near Sigourney, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Lemon) Prather. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1959. On May 31, 1959, Barbara was united in marriage to Harold W Foubert, south of Sigourney at the Prather home. They have lived in the North English and Millersburg communities for 63 years. Barbara attended the West Lancaster Church rural Sigourney. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening and canning. Barbara died on Monday, October 2, 2023, Compass Memorial Hospital in Marengo, at the age of 83 years.

She is survived by her husband Harold of North English; five children Danny Foubert of Millersburg,  David (Rose) Foubert, Debra (Jerry) Grimm, Diane (Gary) Carter all of North English and Duane (Ivy Freese) Foubert of Millersburg; eight grandchildren Leah, Steve, Amanda, Angie, Jacob, Jenny, Michael and Nick; eighteen great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; a sister Patricia Foubert of Florissant, Missouri; a sister-in-law Carol Prather of Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents; half brother Donald Prather; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Vernon Foubert  Kenneth & Ellen McDowell and Larry & Mildred “Midge” Coolman.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, October 6, 2023, at the Millersburg Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to the Pleasant Grove Grace Brethren Church. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
