With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lori Joleen Taghon, who departed on July 18, 2025, at the age of 62.
Lori was born on September 1, 1962, to Harvey and Loretta (Cheney) Benson. She was later lovingly raised by Harvey and Leatrice Benson. Throughout her life, Lori embodied strength, warmth, and a deep love for her family and heritage.
She attended school in Delta and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1980. In 1985, she was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Dan Taghon. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Lori was a proud and loving mother to Trevor Taghon and Tiffany (Taghon) Hale.
Lori had a passion for barrel racing reflected her free spirit and deep connection to horses. From a young age she held her Belgian horse heritage close to her heart. Lori loved the outdoors and found great joy in camping trips with the girls and spending time in the sun. She especially treasured moments with her grandchildren. Creating a legacy of love and laughter.
Lori is survived by her children: Tiffany and Ethan Hale of Sigourney, Trevor and Mackenzie Taghon of Washington and her beloved grandchildren Gentry Taghon, Weston Taghon, Emberly Taghon, and Brexley Taghon, her former husband Dan Taghon, her siblings Shirley Burnett of Sigourney, Dave and Vickie Benson of Sigourney and George and JoAnne Benson of Richland, Sister in law Carol Benson, Stepbrothers Dan (Cindy) Abell, Randy (Donna) Abell and step sisters Becky (Larry) Netten and Cathy (Dan) Tolly and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey, Loretta and Leatrice Benson, infant granddaughters Nellie and Brooklyn Hale, her brother Dean Benson sister Kathleen Benson.
The family appreciates your support and kindly requests that in lieu of flowers donation be made to help with funeral expenses.
