Laverne Foy, age 86, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at her residence.
Her wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 25, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kathy Monroe officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.
Barbara Laverne Foy was born on January 10, 1939 in Littlefield, Texas to James Belton and Thelma W. (Struve) Williams. Laverne married the love of her life, Pat R. Foy on October 30, 1965 in Abilene, Texas. She graduated from Gail's Business College. She was a Rainbow Girl, delivered "Meals on Wheels", and a volunteer for Pioneer City County Museum. She and her husband worked as a rural postal carriers for many years before retiring. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She never met a stranger and will be truly missed by her family and friends. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Pat R. Foy of Sweetwater, Texas; sons, Barry Kirkland of Georgetown, Texas, and Tim Kirkland and wife Judy of Alvarado, Texas; grandchildren, Alicia Monger, Ashley Kirkland, Brian Kirkland, Bradley Vance, Levi Craig, Monica Fox, and Rebbecca Crous; numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Lynn Claude Williams, and Leland Ray Williams; and sister, Jean Lemmons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Thelma Williams, and sister, Yvonda Harris.
