Funeral Services for Barbara A. Fulton 85, of Newark, will be held at Central Christian Church, 11 A.M., Monday, October 7, 2024, with Pastor Kara Swartz as celebrant. Interment will follow in Glen Rest Memorial Park, Reynoldsburg. Calling will be held at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 2-4 P.M, Sunday, October 6, 2024.
Barb passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was born in Hebron, Ohio on May 26, 1939, to the late Wilfred and Ethel (Neldon) Balo.
An active member of Central Christian Church, Barb was a graduate of Hebron High School and attended The Ohio State University. She married the late Michael A. Fulton and together they opened Fulton Motors Inc. where she worked on bookkeeping for the family business. Barb and Mike then became Agency Operators for Avis-Rent-A-Car before Mike's passing and Barb's retirement.
Barb was a loyal Ohio State Football fan and never missed watching a game. Barb, Mike, Debbie, and Denise spent many summers living on Kelly's Island and boating with lifelong friends. The family enjoyed Florida trips, OSU tailgating, and dinners together at Moundbuilders Country Club. She enjoyed traveling with The Freedom Years, shopping, socializing with her beloved friends, and the Christmas season. Barb (MeMe) absolutely loved spending time with and supporting her granddaughters with all of their accomplishments including dance and cheerleading events.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Younger and Denise (Todd) Brunton, all of Newark; granddaughters Mallory Younger, Ashley (fiancé Jacob Rubeck) and Janelle Brunton; and her faithful canine companion Roxy.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Fulton, and infant son, Michael Bradley Fulton.
The family requests any contributions be made to the Central Christian Church located at 587 Mt. Vernon Road, Newark, Ohio 43055; or the Licking County Humane Society, 825 Thornwood Drive, Heath, Ohio 43056. Flowers are also welcome.
