Barbara Gale Obituary
Barbara graduated from Catholic Central High School of Alpena, MI in 1954 and from Mercy School of Nursing in Cadillac, MI. She worked at St Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI where she met her husband. They were married on October 11, 1958, at St Mary's Catholic Church in Alpena MI.
Barb and Dick were blessed with four fantastic and much-loved children who survived: Rick (Laura) Gale, Michelle Lavengood, Jonathon Gale and Stephanie (Bradley) Huff. They were also blessed with 5 grandchildren: Sarah (Danny), Rebecca, Joshua, Daniel (Jessica) and Brandon (Jess) and 9 great grandkids: Logan, Dylan, Gavin, Aubrie, Nathan, Hunter, Kinsley, Riley and Maddie. Also surviving are a sister Julie, two brothers Chet (Kathy), William (Pam), a sister-in-law Patricia and many wonderful nephews and nieces.
Besides being a wife and mother, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, reading mysteries and watching Notre Dame, Michigan Football, Tom Brady (the greatest quarterback), and the Patriots and BUCS.
Barb was active at St. Monica Catholic Church and School since 1967: a room mother, hot lunch mother, girl scout leader, school secretary (at St. Monica) for 35 years. She was a church Eucharistic minister, in the Rosary Society, church cleaning ministry, choir and made prayer blankets for the church. Barb's life revolved around her family and church.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Funeral Home- Bubb Chapel 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN 46545 on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
Memorial donations may be given to any Catholic Charities program or Humane Society of Joseph County.

Mrs. Gale was such a great friend of my Mother. She was a very special woman. I´m sure she will be missed by so many. My deepest condolences to the whole family. May she rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
