Wanda Lee Gale was born July 6, 1928, in Campbell, Missouri. She was the daughter of John and Cecil Ward.

In 1945, she graduated from Campbell High School.

On May 26, 1946, in Caruthersville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Mr. John M. Gale.

Wanda worked as the bookkeeper for J.C. Penny for 16 1/2 years.

She went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, February 15, 2026, around 7:40 in the evening.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John, her parents, and brothers – Clois, Raymond, and Aulden Ward.

She leaves a daughter - Twila and Sonny Ward,

A son - J. Mel Gale, Jr. and Vicki.

Granddaughter – Leslie and Josh Cunningham and precious great grandchildren, Andrew and Madison Cunningham

Grandson – John and Miranda Gale and two cherished great grandchildren, Henry and Harper Gale.

Grandson – Jeff Ward and his three beloved children, Patrick and Michaela Ward, Alex, and Christy.

3 nieces, 1 nephew, and her husband's relatives whom she loved very much.

Some special friends, Karen Lott, Faye Felker, Gloria Lewis, Charles and Anita Cain, Jon and Angie Constant and Ricky and Janice Bell along with many other relatives and friends.

She and her husband enjoyed bowling, the St. Louis Cardinals, traveling and entertaining family and friends.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Caruthersville since 1961.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church on Wednesday, Feb. 18, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. with interment to follow in Maple Cemetery.

Brother Dave Lewelling and Brother Shane O'Guin will officiate.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
