She is survived by her husband, Lester E. Gardner Jr.; two children, Butch Gardner and wife Barbie of Ash Grove, MO and Christina Boom and husband Andre of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren: Nicholas Gardner (Emily), Garret Gardner, Chiane Boom, Skylar Boom, and Weston Boom; one sister-in-law, Karen Gardner of Cape Girardeau; along with other relatives and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Marie (nee' Mantels) Maune; parents-in-law, Herbert and Gurthlen (nee' Meyer) Gardner; her aunt, Louise Dodel (late husband Fred); and her brother-in-law, Dennis Gardner.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow in Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery in Union, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Zion UCC Cemetery Fund or Shriner's Hospital for Children.
The Gardner family is served by Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO.

Barbara and i Grew up on Hoover Ave in Union Missouri. We both attended the Union Grade school and Union High School.
She was active in sports. Later in life after High School, Union managed to build a Swimming Pool. It was here Barbara learned to expand her knowledge of the Types of swimming strokes one might need to use if one found ones self in a difficult situation in the water. She did very will.
