Barbara A. Hanrahan

Barbara A (Thornburg) Hanrahan, 89 years old, of Selbyville, Delaware, passed away peacefully on January 26th, 2026, surrounded by family at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware.

Born on May 2nd, 1936, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Barbara was the daughter of Charles and Virginia (O'Malley) Thornburg. She attended Barnegat High School in New Jersey. After moving to the area, Barbara became Town Administrator for the town of Fenwick Island, Delaware. Upon retiring, she was able to devote more time to caring for and being present in the lives of her beloved grandchildren.

Barbara served as lector at St. Luke's/St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Ocean City, Maryland. Her happiest moments were spent at the beach, fishing, and valued her time spent with her family. Her quick wit and unwavering determination were part of what made her so memorable.

She is survived by her husband, Neil E. Hanrahan; her daughters, Helen Morozzi (Richard) and Jessica Livingston (William); her grandchildren, Evelyn Morozzi, Anthony Morozzi (Bree), Arleigh Morozzi-Hocker (Wade), Katrina Morozzi, Christopher Morozzi, Sierra Livingston, and James Livingston; six great-grandchildren; her sister, Virginia Bean; as well as several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Casper.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved son Frederick Morozzi (Linda); her parents; her sister, Charla Lea; and her nephew, Charles Lea.

In honor of Barbara's life, a Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 6th, 2026, at St. Luke's in Ocean City, Maryland at 12:00 p.m. at 9903 Coastal Hwy, Ocean City, Maryland.
