Barbara Anne Henscheid

Barbara Anne Henscheid, a beacon of love and adventure, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in San Antonio, at the age of 88. Born on December 19, 1936, in Philadelphia, Barbara's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and heartfelt service, woven with the threads of creativity and joy.
Barbara's early years were spent in the nurturing care of her parents, Ruth and Albert Vick. Her academic journey led her to Penn State, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts, and later to Arizona State University, where she completed her Master's in Social Work. Her passion for helping others was evident in her long and distinguished career as a social worker for the state of Arizona, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and dedication.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Peter Henscheid, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her son, Marc (Patty) Henscheid, her daughter, Jennifer Henscheid, her sister, Karen Rittenhouse, and her cherished grandchildren, Carlos and Amy, as well as her adored great-grandchildren, Logan and Wayde.
Barbara's zest for life was infectious. She was an avid traveler, exploring the wonders of Germany, the charm of Paris, and the sun-kissed shores of San Diego. Her happiest moments were spent with her feet in the sand, the ocean's melody accompanying her creative musings. Those who knew Barbara will remember her as a loving soul, whose adventurous spirit and creative mind never ceased to inspire and uplift those around her.
As we bid farewell to Barbara Anne Henscheid, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she has left on our hearts. Her life was a journey of giving, loving, and exploring, and she will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Barbara's story does not end here; it continues in the lives of those she loved and served, a timeless reminder of the beauty and kindness that one person can bring into the world.
