A funeral service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 8, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, July 7. Burial will take place in Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville KY on July 11.
Barbara was born July 6, 1936, in Rochester NY, one of six children born to the late Joseph H. and Margaret Voehl Bayer. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her 5 siblings. Barbara was a proud veteran of the US Army. She moved here 20 years ago from Louisville, KY. In her earlier years, Barbara worked as a bookkeeper in the Automotive Industry. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Kathleen "Kathy" Schelling (Joe) of Concord, her 2 grandchildren, Tina Harwell (Zach) of Kannapolis and Joey Schelling III (lyana Staten) of Concord and her great-grandson, Eli Joseph Staten-Schelling.
