Barbara Ann Lax

Barbara Ann Lax, 76, of Kiel, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at Aurora Memorial Hospital in Sheboygan. Barbara was born May 10, 1949, in Sheboygan, to the late Gordon and Delphia (Libke) Salzman. She graduated from Kiel High School in 1967. Barbara worked at Siebken's Resort while she was in high school. She attended Manpower Business School and was employed by Hayseen Manufacturing. She moved to Boulder Colorado and worked at the University of Colorado as a data processor. On February 9, 1985, she married James Lax in Louis Corners. When she moved back home, she was employed at Doyle Data Systems in Milwaukee before working at Thomas Industries before retiring after 25 years in 2010. Barbara was a fan of auto racing and sports in general. She was a fan of the Brewers, Badgers and the Packers.

In her addition to her husband. James, she is survived by her son, Jason (Kayla) Lax, Kiel; her grandsons, Bryson and Paxton Lax; her brother, Dennis (Rochelle) Salzman; her sister-in-law, Arlene Blatz and her special friend, Mary Sipe. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Salzman, her sister, Dianne (Frank) Lax, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Antonia (Bushman) Lax, her brother-in-law, Marvin Blatz and her nephew Mark Blatz.

A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt-DeTroye Funeral Home (815 6th Street, Kiel.) Visitation will be on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 12:30 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Louis Corners.
