Barbara Z. Meyer

February 16, 1940 - September 22, 2025

Barbara Z. Meyer of Rutherford, New Jersey, passed away at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter A. Meyer, to whom she was married for 55 years.

The only daughter of Herbert W. Zink and Bertha E. Kienast, Barbara grew up in Rutherford and graduated from Rutherford High School. She went on to attend Beaver College in Glenside, Pennsylvania. She dedicated her professional life to teaching, sharing her passion for learning as a fifth-grade teacher in Teaneck, NJ.

Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Jill Glazov and her husband Ken Glazov of Gilbert, Arizona, and Katherine Sarnoski and her husband Dr. Christopher Sarnoski of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania. She was a cherished grandmother to Emily and Ryan Glazov and Colin and Connor Sarnoski.

Barbara was a devoted and active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rutherford, where her faith and friendships flourished. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the countless lives she touched as both teacher and friend.

Family will receive friends Thursday, October 2nd from 4:30 to 7:30pm at Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford, NJ 07070. Funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Rutherford on Friday October 3rd at 10am. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
