Barbara Miracle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home on Jan. 16, 2026.
Barbara Ann Wright Miracle, 80, passed away on January 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at home, her favorite place to be. Born November 29, 1945 in Versailles, Kentucky at Woodford County Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Omer Richard and Mary Ellen Wright.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles E., one son, Richie (Lorra) Miracle, three granddaughters, Ann-Marie (Ryan) Spoonamore, Katherine Miracle (Lowell Adams), and Caroline (Mason) Collins, and four great-grandchildren; Charlotte and Henry Spoonamore, James and Samuel Collins. She is also survived by one brother, Paul (Taffie) Wright and sister-in-law, Brenda (Pinkie) Wright. She is survived by nephews Bradley, Blake, and Christ Wright, and niece Allison Wright. She was loved by a host of other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Larry Wright, J.T Wright and Barbara and Charles' two baby girls; Stacey Michelle and Robin Gail Miracle.

Barbara Ann, affectionately known as Nana, served in many capacities over the years. Her greatest joy was serving as the Kitchen Coordinator for the Kentucky Church of God of Prophecy camping ministry at Camp Nikao in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The camp food was anything but ordinary and was a highlight for campers and workers alike. Her days would start early and would finish late with a special snack after evening services. If a child did not like the meal, she would sneak them a PB&J sandwich and would do anything to keep a child from going hungry. Barbara probably prayed over every No-bake cookie, nacho tray, or biscuit and gravy plated. Barbara was an avid planner, event coordinator, and devoted as much time at her local church for International and Local Missions by planning numerous bazaars and fundraisers. She thought of every little detail. Barbara was also crafty. She kept scrapbooks with pictures and was always the family photographer or videographer. She completed crafts for Easter and Christmas with her grands and great-grands, and even helped with those notorious school projects.

Above all, she was a dedicated wife, mother, nana, sister, and aunt. Her pride and joy was in the ministry of her home. She did as much in private for her family as she did in public for others. She took her granddaughters shopping, hosted numerous sleepovers, and went on the Miracle Girls Spring Break trips while her health allowed. She prepared a family dinner every week and hosted countless meals and cookouts for holidays over the years. Her love language was gift giving and serving. Barbara was a special friend to many and impacted each person's life she encountered.

Barbara loved the Lord with all of her heart. If you spent any amount of time with her, she would quickly tell you of the Lord's goodness in her life. She experienced hardships and battled numerous health issues, but it never stopped her from worshipping and praising God. She would tell of her testimony and how the Lord had been faithful to her all of her life. Most importantly, her actions reflected Christ. Her daily life exemplified the depth of God's love, just as her servant's heart embodied the beauty of His grace.

We would like to express sincere gratitude for those that have visited with Barbara over the last few months at home and in the hospital. Those memories are treasures that she and the family will hold onto forever. We would also like to recognize Barbara's Hospice Nurse, Heather, who was a light to the family when we needed comfort and clarity.
