Barbara Jean Natale, born Oct 7, 1950, in Amsterdam, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 11, 2025, at the age of 74.
A resident of Amsterdam throughout most of her life, Barbara was known for her unwavering kindness, dignity, and warmth. She had a rare gift for turning strangers into friends with her gracious and giving nature.
Throughout her life Barbara was guided by her Catholic faith, which provided her with strength and comfort. She found fulfillment in her career as a paralegal, where her dedication and compassion were highly respected. While her accomplishments were many, her greatest joy came from her family, including her two beloved grandchildren, Camden (8) and Maddox (6).
Barbara shared 27 years with the love of her life, John Stegman, whose companionship was a source of immense happiness for her. She is also survived by her two loving daughters, Megan Cushing and Marcy St. Peter (Brendan) of Massachusetts, and sisters Sherry Pecoraro (Mike), Sandra Natale (Peter), and sister in-law Mary Natale. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Amelia and Samuel Natale and her older brother Angelo, whose memories she cherished dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Barbara's honor on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, followed by a Catholic Prayer Service with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. presiding. Both will take place at Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church Street Amsterdam, NY. Family and friends are welcome. Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to the Community Hospice, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Please visit Barbara's tribute at www.roseandhughesfh.com.

I first met Barbara as her aide about a year ago. Even though she couldn't talk very much I was met with a smile and an occasional "Hello" which made my day! It was a privilege and honor to take care of her.
