Barbara (Brown) Osman, age 92, of Millsboro, DE formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at her home.
Barbara was born in Wilmington DE April 18, 1932. She was the daughter of Helen Florence Brown (McKendrick) and Frederick Richardson Brown. Barbara went to A.I. DuPont High School and was very active in sports including field hockey and basketball. She attended Newberry College in South Carolina. She then lived in England for 6 years after which she returned back to Wilmington.
In 1976 she founded 4 Seasons Tours and Travel, which she closed in 2023 at age 91. She specialized in taking groups all over the world. Barbara loved to travel especially to Egypt and gave talks about each destination. When talking to her about travel her son always said it was easier to ask her where she had not been in this world then where she had been.
She loved the Delaware Art Museum, traveling, her little poodle Seti and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Barbara married Nabil Osman in 1980 and lived in North Wilmington until 2012 when they moved to Independence in Millsboro DE. She also loved to read mysteries and was happy when Barnes and Noble opened near the beach in Rehoboth.
Barbara is predeceased by her first husband Howard Bock, second husband Edward Gallicano, third husband Nabil Osman, and her parents Frederick and Helen.
She is survived by her son, Gary Ian Gallicano and daughter in law Tammy Gallicano, and grandsons Vaughn and Alex Gallicano; her son, Eric F. Bock and grandchildren Morgan, Conor, Jessica, and Melissa and her daughter, Anita Cowen.
A gathering will be held from 10-11 AM on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966, where a graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Millsboro, DE.
Barbara had a great love for dogs and the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Barbara's memory to the Brandywine Valley SPCA by visiting www.bvspca.org.
