Barbara Jackson Ryan, age 77, passed away peacefully at The Spartanburg Regional Hospice House on May 9, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born on October 30, 1947, in Winnsboro, South Carolina she was the daughter of the late, Henry Grafton Jackson and Alice Blue Gibson Jackson.
Barbara graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business from Limestone University, which provided a strong foundation for her successful career. She was a devoted professional, marking over 30 years of dedicated service with Blackwood Associates. A true businesswoman, she thrived on hard work but also deeply valued the moments spent with family, especially time with Grandchildren and Great-Grandson.
Barbara is survived by her son, Elbert Lacon Ryan, IV of Spartanburg; her daughter, Leigh Millwood and her husband, Buddy of Woodruff; her grandchildren, Savanna Ryan and Sara Ryan; her great-grandchild, Weston Ryan; and her devoted sister, Teresa Thornton of Spartanburg. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Elbert Lacon Ryan, III, and her brother, Buddy Jackson.
A cryptside service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 15, 2025, Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC, 29307, family will receive friends following the service. Conducting the service will be The Rev. Michael Catoe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org
Barbara Jackson Ryan leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for her family that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
