Barbara (Scott) Schofield, age 91, of
Warwick, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at home on December 16, 2025.
Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late George and Helena (Rogers) Scott. For 70 years, Barbara was the cherished wife of Raymond Schofield. They shared a love story rooted in devotion, spending their entire marriage in the same home they built together. Raymond was the love of her life, and she was the love of his.
Barbara was a woman filled with love, kindness, and grace. She was always ready with a warm smile and a caring heart, putting others before herself. A deeply devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Barbara naturally became a mother figure to many family members, welcoming all with open arms. Her love and guidance touched countless lives.
She enjoyed trips to the casino with her husband and treasured time spent out with her girlfriends, which friendships formed during her years working in the jewelry industry. Barbara was truly a beautiful soul-kind, loving, compassionate, and generous, with a heart of gold. In her younger years at Lockwood High School, she proudly reigned as the queen of her class.
In addition to her beloved husband, Raymond, she is survived by her two sons, Raymond Schofield, Jr. of Montville, ME, and John Schofield of
Warwick, RI; six granddaughters, Nicole, Amy, Jonelle, Elisha, Justine, and Jacquelynn; and one cherished great-grandchild, Elijah.
Barbara was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Debra Chauvin, in August 2025, and by her six siblings: George Scott, Henry Scott, Richard Scott, Mary Beatles, Elise Scott, and Nancy Simpson.
Services will be private.
