Barbara A. Sheehan, a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on March 10, 2025, in Neptune, at the age of 82. Born on December 6, 1942. Barbara was born and raised in Elizabeth, prior to moving down to Union Beach in 1971.
Barbara was a beacon of light and warmth to all who knew her. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald, in 2002, and was one of thirteen siblings whose bonds reflected the richness of a large, loving family. Her spirit is carried on by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who were blessed to know her kindness and unwavering support.
For over four decades, Barbara was a familiar and friendly face at the F.W. Woolworth Cafe, where she served countless customers with a smile that never faded. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to the community, as she later served with equal passion as a lunch aide at the Middletown school. Barbara left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.
Beyond her professional life, Barbara was an avid crocheter, creating beautiful pieces. Her love for dogs was equally well-known, as she found great joy and companionship in their loyal presence. Barbara loved her Pepsi!!!! and her appreciation for the simple things in life, from a well-crafted stitch to the wag of a tail, spoke volumes about her approach to life-finding beauty and happiness in everyday moments.
Barbara's legacy is one of love and the gentle strength that comes from a life well-lived. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In keeping with Barbara's wishes, she will be privately cremated and a family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Union Beach EMS at www.unionbeachems.org 310 Park Ave. Union Beach, NJ 07735 or call 732-264-0275
