Barbara had three siblings Sharon Stepp, Robert and Janet Pierson, Roy and Malania Pierson.
Barbara married Raymond Schrader had two daughters, Fran/Nathanial Roper and Valerie and Larry Adkins. She had five step children, Terry and Rita Schrader, Roxanne and Bucky Boothe, Colleen and Mike Derringer, Chris and Jim Cross, Dawn and Mark Waldrop.
Later in life, Barbara married her soulmate, Norman Smith who had two children and 10 stepchildren he raised. Barbara had too many grandchildren and great grandchildren to count, she adored all of them.
Barbara was a deacon of her church, Calvary Presbyterian of Round Lake. She loved singing in the choir, and working at the church with her friends and favorite Reverend Kauffman, loved traveling and crafting with her friends.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 4:00 pm at the Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 32475 N. Alleghany Road, Grayslake, IL.
