Barbara A. Snyder

Barbara Ann (Landis) Snyder, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Country Meadows in York, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Larry C. Snyder for 66 years.
Barbara was born July 21, 1936, in York, PA, the eldest child of the late Kenneth K. Landis and Charlotte L. (Mutzebaugh) Landis Jarvis. She was valedictorian of her 1954 graduating class at West York High School.
In addition to raising four children, she also worked at Sears for 35 years as a switchboard operator and carpet sales associate. Later she went on to work at Topflight, Janney Montgomery Scott, and the York County Courthouse. She was a member and past president of the local chapter of the American Business Women's Association and was named their "Woman of the Year" in 2008.
As a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Barbara attended Circle meetings, served on the church council, and worked as a church librarian. Music was a central part of her life. As a teenager, she played and taught the accordion, eventually joining the renowned LaRose Accordion Band. Known for her beautiful singing voice, she also learned to play the piano by ear. Barbara enjoyed trips to Ocean City, traveling with Larry to bowling tournaments, spending time at the family cabin in West Virginia, and cruising to places like Alaska and the Caribbean. She also loved to read, and always had a book nearby.
Barbara is survived by her children: Sheryl Stottlemyer; Randall Snyder and wife Dorothy Potter Snyder; and Lori Snyder and husband Thomas Miller; three grandchildren, Valerie, Logan and Nicholas; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Karen Gauthier and husband Pete. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, a brother Barry Landis, and a son Douglas Snyder.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Country Meadows of York, for taking excellent care of Barbara.
A joint memorial service for Barbara and Larry will be held at a later date.
