Barbara Jean Sodd

Barbara Jean Sodd, 90, of Louisville, KY, entered Eternal Life on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
Barbara was born on August 14, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio to Anthony Joseph Sodd and Mary Elizabeth Karem Sodd. She was a graduate of Presentation Academy and Nazareth College and later completed two years of postgraduate work at the Old University of Louisville Medical School. Barbara worked as a medical technologist for 40 years in many private laboratories.
She was a singer and entertainer for over 70 years and performed locally, as well as nationally and internationally. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Moose Lodge. Barbara was honored by the Louisville Federation of Missions, the Kentucky House of Representatives, and the American Federation of Missions. She was also a member of the Delta Da Mes bridge club for over 65 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and only brother, Tony Sodd.
Barbara is survived by her sisters, Mary E. Schweri (Phil) and Christina K. Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Barbara will be from 2-8 PM on Friday, December 16 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM on Saturday, December 17 at St. John Paul Catholic Church, 3521 Goldsmith Lane, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
