Barbara Esther Foley-Stuhlmuller
January 29, 1939 — August 13, 2025
On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Barbara Esther Foley-Stuhlmuller, loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 86.
Barbara was born on January 29, 1939, in Paoli, Indiana to Robert and Ida Faye (Kendall) Gofourth. On December 16, 1960, she married Dewey Elmer Foley, Jr. They raised three sons, Dewey III, Darin, David, and one daughter Denise, until Dewey Jr.’s death in December 1981. In June 1986, Barbara married Robert (Bob) Douglas Stuhlmuller and welcomed his children Suzanne, Gennifer, and Thomas into the family.
Barbara valued time with her family, and enjoyed bowling, camping, travel, and community activities. She was active in the Women of the Moose, volunteered for family-oriented events, loved hosting large Thanksgiving gatherings, and took pleasure in gardening, music, crocheting, and church involvement.
Barbara proudly graduated from Paoli High School (Paoli, Indiana) in 1956 and Baptist Bible College (Springfield, Missouri) in 1959. She retired from Utica Mutual Insurance in 2003, and then from Walmart in 2015.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ida Faye; husband Dewey Jr.; brothers Earl and George; sisters Helen and Evelyn; son Dewey III; and son-in-law Fred Weimer. She is survived by her children Denise, Darin (Lisa), David (Cindy), Suzanne (Bill), Gennifer (Paul), and Thomas (Pam); sisters Mary Slane and Peggy; grandchildren Natalie, Nick (Shelley), Justin (Rachael), Matt (Cheyenne), Jesse, Mike (Cassie), Shelby (Connor), Emma, Spencer; and great-grandchildren.
