Barbara J. Waite, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at the age of 85 in Sewell, New Jersey. She was born on November 8, 1939, in Camden, New Jersey, and lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a profound love for her family and friends.
Barbara was a woman whose heart knew no bounds. Her life was a testament to the power of love, as she embraced her roles as a wife to her beloved husband John Waite, a mother to her daughters Theresa Post and Loretta Carbone, a mother-in-law to James Post and Joseph Carbone, and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and guiding them with an unwavering spirit.
Her professional life was spent in service to her country, working diligently for the Department of Defense. Barbara's commitment to her work was paralleled only by her commitment to her family. She took great pride in balancing her professional responsibilities with her roles as a mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her ability to do so with grace and love was one of the many qualities that endeared her to all who knew her.
Barbara's interests and activities were a reflection of her vibrant spirit and her love for life. She was an avid animal lover, and her kindness extended to all creatures, great and small. Her melodious voice was a gift she shared generously, singing in the choir and filling the lives of those around her with music and joy. Barbara also possessed a creative soul, delighting in arts and crafts, and often sharing her creations with her loved ones. Friends and family were the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent in their company.
The words that best describe Barbara are loving, kind, and selfless. She lived her life with a generosity of spirit that touched everyone she met. Even in her passing, the legacy of her warmth and compassion continues to resonate with those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Barbara's presence was a comforting and nurturing force, and her memory will be treasured as a guiding light that continues to inspire kindness and love.
Barbara is survived by her husband, John Waite; her daughters, Theresa Post and Loretta Carbone; sons-in-law, James Post and Joseph Carbone; her beloved grandchildren, Lauren Benner (Bud), Amanda Friedman (Paul), Jennifer Post, Alex Post, Joseph Carbone, III, and Lindsey Elbanna (Abood); and her adored great-grandchildren, Anna, Wesley, Lucy, Owen, Isla, and Jeremy. She also leaves behind her brothers, Michael Williams (Mary Lou) and Joe Williams (Chris), who will miss her deeply.
Barbara J. Waite's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, service, and devotion. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we celebrate the profound impact she had on the lives of those around her. Her spirit, characterized by boundless love and selflessness, will forever remain a cornerstone of her family's legacy.
